Daisy Ridley May Be the Next Lara Croft
Rey is in the running to play the ‘Tomb Raider’ icon.
With MGM and Warner Bros. partnering to reboot 2001’s Tomb Raider movie, speculation has been high as to who’ll be taking over Angelina Jolie‘s highly memorable turn as gun-toting archeologist Lara Croft.
Deadline is reporting that one of the actresses in the running to fill Jolie’s combat boots is 23-year-old British actress Daisy Ridley. Ridley has already proven herself more than capable of playing the heroine with her portrayal of Rey in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
It’s still early yet in the casting process, but Ridley certainly isn’t a bad place to start. Like they say, if you can helm one nerd franchise, you can helm them all.
