With Friends like these, who needs Friends.

NBC is hosting a circle jerk in honor of veteran director James Burrows, and the centerpiece will be a reunion for Friends, a show that will always love itself more than its audience ever did.
The excuse for the celebration is the Burrows’ recent 1000-episode milestone as a director. His impressive repertoire includes Taxi, Cheers, Will & Grace, The Big Bang Theory, Mike & Molly, and 15 episodes of Friends. According to TVLine, the whole Friends gang is expected to show: Monica, Chandler, Joey, Ross, Rachel, and Phoebe (who, tbh, is always welcome).
The 2-hour special will air at 9 pm on Sunday, February 21 — which is notably a big night for HBO. Its new drama Vinyl will be on at 9 p.m., followed by the season premieres of Girls and Togetherness. Guess what we’ll be watching?
