Renault Is Taking On Porsche With Its Sleek and Sporty New Alpine A110
We’re ready for this battle.

We have to wait until its full unveiling next week at the Geneva Motor Show for full details, but Renault has released the first photos of the Alpine A110 sports car, a machine it says reflect “the timeless principles of compact size, light weight and agility.”
The A110 is aided in achieving its goal by a lightweight aluminum platform and body.

The original A110 debuted at the Paris Motor Show in 1962, two years ahead of the Porsche 911. Like the Porsche, the Alpine used a rear-mounted, air cooled engine with swing axle independent rear suspension.

Here’s to Renault rejoining its rivalry with Porsche!
