Watch Adam Sandler Drive Chris Rock Nuts in Bizarre First Trailer For ‘The Week Of’

We’re not quite sure what to make of this.

What the hell is going on here? The synopsis tells what the movie is about, but this is a mysteriously odd trailer for a movie that stars a pair of comedy stalwarts like Adam Sandler and Chris Rock

It’s true that for every Happy Gilmore Sandler has a Jack and Jill, but Rock is pretty reliably good. Also, how the hell are either of these guys old enough to have kids who could get married?

The Week Of
Dads?

Anyway, here’s the shorter Netflix synopsis for The Week Of, for what it’s worth:

When two very different fathers (Adam Sandler and Chris Rock) come together for their children’s wedding, everything that could go wrong, does. Watch the hilarious hijinks as the two try to keep everything afloat, while dealing with their families…and each other. Before they get to the big day, they have to go through a long week.

“Hilarious hijinks” always feels like a red flag—an indicator that the hijinks are lame and nothing is actually hilarious.

Still, Sandler has his Netflix Originals movie deal to fulfill—and maybe this Robert Smigel-directed movie (he’s the comedy genius behind Triumph the Insult Comic Dog) is hiding some funny surprises behind that WTF trailer.

The Week Of begins streaming April 27 on Netflix.
