Just hours after lifting a decades-long arms embargo on Vietnam Monday, President Obama dined in Hanoi with Parts Unknown host Anthony Bourdain.
The $6 meal included two bowls of Vietnamese pho, spring rolls and a few beers, as evidenced from the photo posted to Bourdain’s account, which also advised: “the president’s chopstick skills are on point.”
A huge crowd gathered outside the restaurant Bun cha Huong Lien, then cheered when Obama came out, before shaking lots of hands and jumped into a waiting motorcade, the Associated Press reports.
Bourdain’s beer-fueled Obama interview will be featured in the eighth season of CNN’s top-rated Parts Unknown, which begins in September.
