Just pretend ‘Genisys’ never happened.

Although no one in their right mind enjoyed the 2015 schlockfest Terminator: Genisys, we were all dismayed to learn Paramount had terminated all planned sequels.

But Hollywood, like that famous motorcycle chase from T2, moves quickly. The franchise will move forward with another sequel/reboot and will pretend the mess that was Genisys never happened.

Franchise creator James Cameron will return in a producing capacity while Deadpool director Tim Miller will helm the new project. Better yet, Arnold Schwarzenegger just announced he will be back.

Speaking with ScreenDaily at the Cannes Film Festival, Schwarzenegger said resolutely, “It is back.”

“It is moving forward. He [Cameron] has some good ideas of how to continue with the franchise,” he added.

But his final announcement is what is grabbing headlines: “I will be in the movie.”

This is good news. Even if you reboot it with an entirely new direction, there is no Terminator franchise without the Schwarzenator attached.
