Ben Affleck’s First Solo Batman Film Gets Its Title
He got real creative with this one.
As rumors have led us to believe for the last few months, it seems Ben Affleck’s upcoming standalone Batman feature will hit theaters with the title—wait for it—The Batman.
“At least that’s what we’re going with now,” Affleck told The Associated Press. “I might change it.”
News of the 44-year old embracing the Dark Knight persona once again came as a little bit of a surprise following the permanent sad face he wore after listening to an onslaught of atrocious reviews for BVS: Dawn of Justice. Since he’s taking on several duties as both director and co-writer, aside from starring as the titular character, Affleck is most likely aiming for a much simpler, straightforward tale for the Caped Crusader this time around.
“We’re working on the script, it’s going well, I’m really excited about it, and I assure you, if anything develops, you’ll hear about it,” says Affleck.
The Batman, starring Ben Affleck and Joe Manganiello (confirmed at the moment) is expected to hit theaters sometime between DC’s release of 2018’s The Flash and 2020’s Cyborg.
