Mike D hinted about it earlier this year, and now we have some honest-to-goodness intel on the memoir he and bandmate Ad-Rock have put together chronicling the Beastie Boys journey from rowdy New York City punks to groundbreaking and wildly influential hip-hop artists.

The 592-page tome is named, fittingly, Beastie Boys Book, and will be “a panoramic experience that tells the story of Beastie Boys,” with contributions from Amy Poehler, Colson Whitehead, Spike Jonze, Wes Anderson, Luc Sante, and more.

That’s not enough for you? Well, according to publisher Random House

With a style as distinctive and eclectic as a Beastie Boys album, Beastie Boys Book upends the typical music memoir. Alongside the band narrative you will find rare photos, original illustrations, a cookbook by chef Roy Choi, a graphic novel, a map of Beastie Boys’ New York, mixtape playlists, pieces by guest contributors, and many more surprises.

That’s right, it includes recipes, playlists and a friggin’ graphic novel.

Since the passing of bandmate Adam “MCA” Yauch in 2012, the Beasties ceased both performing and creating new music. So we’ll take their return in any form possible.

Beastie Boys Book is due out on October 30, and you can preorder it here.
