Brekle’s Brown Ale
Great things come in brown…
Like this…
And definitely this: Brekle’s Brown from Anchor Brewing Co.
Something about the in-between stages of brutally cold and slightly cold weather makes us crave brown ale like crazy. Luckily, Brekle’s Brown does the trick with one single hop, Citra, and an ABV of 6%. Brekle’s is mild, but still citrusy and full-bodied.
The recipe and name comes from Gottlieb Brekle, a pioneer brewer from Germany who transformed a saloon in San Francisco into a craft brewery (now known as Anchor Brewing). We’re glad he did all that stuff, because this brown ale is delicious. Thanks Brekle!
