We’ve been eagerly awaiting a response from Slipknot and Stone Sour vocalist Corey Taylor to deliver one of his trademark verbal tirades against Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger after the Canadian singer belittled both of Taylor’s bands.

In case you missed it—and we totally understand if you did—here’s the interview with Metal Covenant in which Kroeger accuses Stone Sour of “trying to be Nickelback” and calls the Des Moines-based rock outfit “Nickelback light” before implying that Slipknot’s masked performances are a “gimmick.” The shade is thrown at 8:15.

Taylor’s initial public reaction came in the form of an uncharacteristically subdued retweet.

“I cant wait till CoreyTaylorRock has his answer,” the tweet reads. “But its still better not 2 respond and just never listen to Nickelback or give him anything.”

Strangely, even Smash Mouth gave a lukewarm take on Kroeger’s comments.

Some might call Taylor’s Twitter reaction a classic case of taking the high road, but the metal singer presumably thought “fuck that noise” right before he hit the airwaves of Arizona radio station 98 KUPD and unloaded on Kroeger.

“I don’t know what the hell planet he’s living on. Apparently it’s planet Kroeger, and there must be good weed there, because he’s an idiot.”

“The Great Big Mouth,” as Taylor is known by his fans for always speaking candidly, was just getting started.

“Everybody else in that band I’m very, very cool with; I’ve hung out with them. It’s just ‘Face Like a Foot’ who I can’t really hang out with. He’s got a face like a foot. Am I wrong? … So, dude, curl up in bed with your Hello Kitty pillow and shut up.”

He was particularly poignant in addressing Kroeger’s remarks about Slipknot’s get-up.

“All I know is I’ve been voted ‘Sexiest Dude in Rock’ wearing a mask. You’ve been voted ‘Ugliest Dude in Rock’ twice without one. Stick that up your ass.”

Your move, Chad.
