Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky Balboa and Dolph Lundgren’s Ivan Drago were set to reboot their iconic boxing match from Rocky IV in the form of a street fight in Creed II

The scene ended up on the cutting room floor, but via Instagram Sly was still happy to give fans of the acclaimed sequel a rough video of a rehearsal and take—watch it above.

Stallone provided context for the scene in the post’s caption.

“It took place in the hospital just after Adonis had been terribly beaten by Drago’s son,” he wrote.

“Adonis is in much pain and tells me to leave…Drago and the promoter show up with film crew! They were planning on going upstairs to harass the beaten fighter but Rocky stops them!”

“It would’ve been extraordinary, but regretfully it was cut,” he added. “Pity.”

At ages 72 and 61, Stallone and Lundgren may be the only two senior citizens on earth anyone wants to see trading blows on the big screen.

Even so, Creed II director Steven Caple Jr. made the decision to omit the moment from the final cut and leave the punching to Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan) and Viktor Drago (Florian Munteanu).

At least we’ll always have the Rocky franchise—that’s enough punching for a lifetime.
