Swords Fly in the Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon Sequel Trailer
Something tells us that this one isn’t going to get as much attention at the Academy Awards.
Netflix has released the trailer to its slightly controversial sequel to Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, which will air on Netflix on the same day it appears in IMAX theaters. Non-IMAX theater chains, somewhat understandably, refused to carry a movie that was available on Netflix at the same time.
Woo-Ping Yuen, best known in the U.S. for his stunt direction on Kill Bill: Vol. 2, directs Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: The Green Legend, which brings back original Crouching Tiger star Michelle Yeoh. The trailer is mostly swords flying, people flying, and people flying while holding swords; presumably, swords of destiny. Also, there’s a terrible cover of Bad Moon Risingsung by a murder robot. But don’t take our word for it: See the trailer below and decide for yourself to skip this one when it opens on Feb. 26.
