The Daily Heat Index: Watch The Best Highlights from the MTV Video Music Awards
See Ariana Grande join forces with Nicki Minaj, Britney’s return to the VMAs, Beyonce’s medley and more.
Standing “Side to Side”
Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande had us thinking pink in one of the night’s early performances off Grande’s Dangerous Woman. Audiences followed them around stage during a neon-splashed, workout jam that spanned from spin bike to pommel horse, before closing out with two lucky dudes brought to their knees. Hey, did you expect anything less?
Britney’s Back
Last night marked pop icon Britney Spears’ triumphant return to the VMA stage following that infamously panned “Gimme More” performance back in 2007. Sporting a tight, shiny, yellow get-up slightly reminiscent of Borat’s bathing suit, Spears showed off her dance moves and brought lead single “Make Me..” to life, ending the night as only she could – by dodging an attempted kiss from the track’s featured rapper, G-Eazy. Better luck next time, bro.

All Hail Queen B
Beyoncé dropped a hot medley of songs mid-way through the VMAs with a trio of tunes from her buzzy visual album, Lemonade. Looking as angelic as ever for opening song, “Pray You Catch Me,” she shifted gears quick and took out a camera for “Sorry” before closing in a tight “Formation.”
