The Daily Heat Index: ‘Game of Thrones’ Actress Nathalie Emmanuel Really Wants to Play Iron Man
Plus: Cara Delevingne dominates a late night rap battle and Will Smith goes old school with “Miami.”
Here’s a daily dose of what’s heating up the internet:
Riri’s Big Screen Debut?
It was just a few weeks that Marvel proved its progressiveness by retiring genius billionaire Tony Stark and putting the young, female Riri Williams in his place. While there’s no evidence that the studio has any plan for an on-screen iteration of the savvy student, fans have been casting the role themselves, and it seems like they landed on an actress who is just as interested: Nathalie Emmanuel. The Game of Thrones star weighed in at a recent SDCC panel: “I quite like the Iron Man films. There seems to be this issue of women in technology and science films and things like that, and I think the idea of playing some sort of science whiz that also kicks butt like Iron Man could be fun.” It does look like red is her color..
Cara Drops the Mic
Cara Delevingne proved she has a future in rap during a killer Late Late Show segment, ‘Drop the Mic.’ The Suicide Squad star faced off against host James Corden and Nerve star Dave Franco, getting hit from every angle about her inability to act before firing a winning blow at her opponents with the line: “You’re both shorter than me and I think that you’ll find, I’ve hooked up with hotter girls than both of you combined.” Job well done, Cara.
Still Getting Jiggy
Will Smith has still got it. The multi-talented actor/producer/rapper paid a visit to Miami to unveil a new mural for DC’s Suicide Squad, so it was only appropriate for the 47-year old to revive his 1998 hit track, “Miami,” for the occasion. Listen above and watch Smith break it down with his comic book co-stars bopping in the background.
