Excitement for a new Bond film is growing and this will only add to it: IMAX just released new artwork. On Thursday they did just that, with a striking new poster for No Time To Die featuring Daniel Craig on a motorcycle wearing an expression totally appropriate to a man on his final mission.
In a first, director Cary Joji Fukunaga shot portions of the 25th Bond movie with Imax’s extraordinary high-resolution film cameras–all as part of an effort to deliver a truly immersive movie-going experience. By combining footage from those cameras and IMAX’s unique wide, curved screen setup, the audience is pulled into a viewing experience that’s been visually expanded by up to 40 percent.
The goal, according to IMAX and MGM, was to deliver images of “unprecedented crispness” and “clarity and color.” All of this combines to make “for a truly immersive experience.”
Here’s what Daniel Craig‘s secret agent faces in the actor’s final turn in the role:
…Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.
No Time To Die will first premiere early on April 9th in IMAX theaters. It’s in theaters everywhere beginning April 10, 2020.
