10 Important Deleted Star Wars Scenes You’ve Probably Never Seen
Including proof that Greedo (probably) shot first.
For those gearing up for the coming insanity of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the Star Wars: The Complete Saga Blu-Ray release is the ultimate refresher to the saga that rocked a galaxy far, far away. But one of the best parts of the collection is a cache of deleted scenes from all six Star Wars films to date, compiled in this excellent video from ScreenRant:
Some of these scenes — the brutal murder of a Jedi in Revenge of the Sith, Luke building his own lightsaber in Return of the Jedi, and a sassy one-liner from Han Solo — aren’t incredibly interesting, but some our downright mind-blowing. The compilation includes a tense, aborted love scene between Luke and Leia, interrupted by C-3PO, that suggests George Lucas didn’t originally intend for them to be siblings
More importantly: Did Lucas leave proof that Greedo shot first buried in a scuffle between Anakin Skywalker and a Rodian in The Phantom Menace and forgotten on the cutting room floor? That’s what it looks like.
