Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige & Kendrick Lamar Unite For Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show Teaser
Watch hip-hop legends assemble superhero-style in this epic Super Bowl Halftime Show teaser.
Hip-hop greats—rap gods, if you will—are joining forces superhero-style in a Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show trailer dubbed The Call.
Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar will take the stage after the NFL championship game’s second quarter on February 13.
To hype the superstar show, Straight Outta Compton director F. Gary Gray collaborated with the five performers to create an epic, nearly four-minute-long teaser filled with references to famous music videos.
Grammy-winning songwriter Adam Blackstone scored a montage featuring five iconic songs that play as each artist gets the halftime show phone call.
Eminem is seen confronting his alter-ego Slim Shady as his song “Rap God” plays before Snoop Dogg is seen cruising in a classic car listening to “The Next Episode.” Blige is getting her hair and makeup done when a text alert interrupts her “Family Affairs,” while Lamar is shown scribbling lyrics with “Humble” playing the background.
Dre is walking on a beach as the famous “Still D.R.E.” keyboard intro sounds. All five then meet on an airplane tarmac and join together as Tupac Shakur’s classic banger “California Love” plays them out to further hype this year’s Super Bowl at L.A.’s SoFi Stadium.
“Each time I collaborate with Dre, it seems to mark an important moment in entertainment history, from projects like Friday, Set It Off, Straight Outta Compton, to now the Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show,” Gray said, per the New York Post.
“As a super fan, I consider it an honor and privilege to authentically build and create this moment with five of the most legendary artists in music history.”
