Dr Dre’s New Album Has All The Best Rappers
And it’s even better than Detox.
UPDATE: This album is now available and is iconic.
ORIGINAL: You’ve been waiting on Detox for a long time, we know. We’ve been waiting just as long! It’s been 15 years since Dr. Dre’s last album and finally we have the reason the album we were promised isn’t here: “It wasn’t good.” This assessment comes from Dre himself via his Apple Music radio show The Pharmacy on Sunday. “The record, it just wasn’t good. I don’t think I did a good enough job, and I couldn’t do that to my fans, and I couldn’t do that to myself.”
It’s a pretty noble reason to hold on the release. But now what? You fail at one album for a decade and a half and that’s it? In its place comes a new project entitled Compton: The Soundtrack.
If you missed #ThePharmacy w/ @DrDre, you can experience it now on #Connect. #Comptonhttp://t.co/0DfJd9M4gHhttps://t.co/fBSDoj9Zgf

To be honest, if we had to pick out an album to serve as replacement for one we were promised, this is definitely our top select. Inspired by the upcoming biopic Straight Outta Compton, this release(out Friday on iTunes and Apple Music exclusively) sees Dre team up with everyone from Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and Snoop Dog to Marsha Ambrosia and Jill Scott. We’re talking 16 tracks, all available for pre-order now that will serve as the artist’s final opus.
So yeah as far as replacements go, this is definitely a good one.
