Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, star of such screen classics as Tooth Fairy and Race to Witch Mountain, has never been numero uno among critics.
In fact, his latest romp—the much-anticipated Baywatch movie—is a critical dud, racking up a meager 19% approval rating among film critics on Rotten Tomatoes. But that don’t mean a thing to The Rock, who is more concerned with fans having a good time at theaters.
After being informed on Twitter that Baywatch had a slight approval uptick of 2% on Rotten Tomatoes, he chimed in with his general indifference towards critics.
The new @baywatchmovie has now ticked up from 13% rotten to an 18% rotten tomato!

Yay positive upticks 😂
Fans LOVE the movie. Critics HATE it. What a glaring disconnect. People just want to laugh & have fun. #Baywatch🔥🤙🏾 https://t.co/GrPgdevRuz— Dwayne Johnson (@TheRock) May 25, 2017
So The Rock is going for the last laugh. And since the movie just raked in $1.25 million during Wednesday night previews alone, he’ll certainly get that last laugh on payday.
Baywatch is now in theaters nationwide.
