Ed Sheeran Will Appear on Season 7 of ‘Game of Thrones’, Because Ginger Is Coming
This should be interesting.
British pop star Ed Sheeran will appear in the seventh season of HBO’s Game of Thrones, where he will presumably defend himself against his co-stars’ deadly treachery with an acoustic guitar and some sweet tunes.
Showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff broke the news at a South by Southwest panel moderated by stars Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner on Sunday. They said they had been trying to book Sheeran for eons because Williams, who plays the perpetually badass Arya Stark, is a self-professed superfan.
Following the announcement, Sheeran took a break from boasting about hooking up with members of Taylor Swift’s supermodel #squad to confirm the news on Twitter.

There is still no word on who Sheeran will play in the much-loved fantasy series; however, he will fill a void left when another redheaded celebrity, Irish UFC superstar Conor McGregor, officially dispelled speculation that he will appear in Season 7.
We still have to see whether Ed has as much fight in him as McGregor would on July 16, when Season 7 premieres. Check out a cryptic first trailer, below.
