It’s been almost a year since National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden was charged with theft of government property and two counts of violating the 1917 Espionage Act. Since then, Snowden has sparked both outrage and celebration, as he’s been out of the country and the recipient of awards including the German Whistleblower Prize, Ridenhour Truth-Telling Prize, and Sam Adams Award. In last night’s interview with Brian Williams, Snowden insisted that he is a patriot and that he’d like to get amnesty or clemency in order to come home.
