‘Fast & Furious’ Spin-Off Starring The Rock and Jason Statham Lands ‘John Wick’ Director
The fight sequences will be amazing.
The perfect director just signed on for the upcoming Fast & Furious spin-off movie starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Jason Statham. EW reports that John Wick and Atomic Blonde director David Leitch is on board for the tentatively-titled Hobbs & Shaw.
Wick and Atomic Blonde are filled with creative, thrilling fight scenes. It’s hard to think of someone more well-suited to showing off what The Rock and Statham can really do, especially when you get a look at their F&F characters, Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw, taking on an entire prison.

This probably won’t make Statham’s and Johnson’s co-stars Vin Diesel or Tyrese Gibson very happy.
Johnson has been feuding with Diesel and to a lesser degree with Gibson, mostly over their on-set attitudes. But Gibson in particular has been pissed about the spin-off.

Chris Morgan, who wrote all the preceding Fast & Furious movies, will write this one too. So maybe the feuds will expand. Maybe all four will fight.
Which is fine, so long as David Leitch is directing the whole thing.
Hobbs & Shaw—or whatever its final title is—hits theaters on July 26, 2019.
