Fetty Wap’s Motorcycle Crash Could Land Him in Court

New details released by New Jersey police spell trouble ahead for the rapper.

Good news for fans of trap king Fetty Wap: he’s intact and recovering in the hospital following his motorcycle accident this Saturday.

Bad news for his dutiful trap queen: he’s been issued three summonses — one for driving without a license, another for driving without insurance, and a third for failing to produce a vehicle registration card, Paterson Police Director Jerry Speziale told CBS News. This could put their plans of “talkin’ matchin’ Lambos” and “lettin’ bands go” in jeopardy — a bad turn for a guy who spent the last few days reveling in the glory of his debut album.

The Trap Queen rapper was knocked off his motorcycle during a crash in his hometown Paterson, N.J. An eyewitness told TMZ that Wap was trying to pass a vehicle but failed to see another one approaching from the opposite direction. They collided, and Wap was reported to have fallen unconscious for some time. The woman driving the car also suffered undisclosed injuries, CBS reports.

Team Wap released a statement to Rolling Stone on Saturday evening: “Fetty Wap was involved in a motorcycle incident earlier today. He was treated at a local hospital and is in stable condition. His family wants to thank everyone for their outpouring of love and support. They ask that you respect their privacy during this time. We will provide an update on his condition as it becomes available.”
