‘The Lion King’ Full-Length Trailer Is a Photorealistic Animated Spectacle
Talking animals have never looked so real.
The first full-length trailer for the reboot of Disney’s classic The Lion King is finally here, and yes, it looks pretty amazing.
The requisite talking lions are joined by hyenas, antelopes, boars, primates and giraffes in what looks to be a truly striking photorealistic animated epic.
The new two-minute clip has Mufasa (James Earl Jones) intoning a voice over as young Simba and Nala can be seen venturing off into the Wastelands, while a grownup Simba hangs with Timon and Pumbaa, and plenty of animals are encountered along the way.
Directed by Jon Favreau, The Lion King revamp also stars Donald Glover as Simba, Beyoncé as Nala, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa, and more. It’s slated to release on July 19, 2019.
