Floyd Mayweather Carries $50,000 Into Strip Club After Buying $3.5 Million Car

As ever, “Money” is more entertaining out of the ring than in it.

Has a professional athlete ever lived up to his nickname better than Floyd “Money” Mayweather? Unless Earvin Johnson’s got a gig as a birthday party magician, we say no.

The retired (for now) boxer was at it again this week, with a couple ostentatious displays of wealth that would make a Saudi prince blush.

First there was the Bugatti. Mayweather dropped nearly $3.5 million on a 2015 Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse earlier this week. How could a car possibly cost that much? That’s a rhetorical question. Don’t try to answer. Unless it’s delivering a physicist to deep space, no vehicle has any right to cost that much. But to Mayweather, who made $300 million last year, the price was of little concern.

Hours after buying his fourth Bugatti, Mayweather put on a less expensive but equally extravagant move. Like ominous gray skies rolling into town, Mayweather showed up at a strip club with $50,000 in singles under each arm. It was about to rain.

To his credit, Mayweather reportedly brought along 45 friends and bought them 30 bottles of champagne. TMZ says, “there was so much cash being thrown around, you couldn’t see the floor … and staffers busted out brooms to sweep up all the bills.”

Mayweather may be worth around half a billion dollars, but at this rate the man might have to change his nickname soon. Perhaps something like Floyd “I Spent All My Money Trying to Prove to People I Had an Unlimited Supply of Money, Which Was Clearly Not True Given My Nickname Change” Mayweather.
