The Top 10 ‘Barn Find’ Classics from the ‘Forza Horizon’ Series

Dust these beauties off and go.

Forza Horizon 3 is launching on Tuesday, September 27, on Xbox One and PC. While its counterpart, Forza Motorsport, takes racing on in a very realistic way, the Forza Horizon series is an expansive arcade-style racing experience, one that sets you loose in an open-world where you’re free to race, wander and explore as you like. One of the best reasons to explore the Colorado rockies in Horizon 1, the Riviera in Horizon 2 and the Australian outback in the upcoming Horizon 3 are the “Barn Find” cars that are scattered throughout the landscape. Find the car, send it to your mechanic for restoration, and then take that beauty out for some red-lining fun.

Here are the 10 best of the Barn Finds from all the Forza Horizon games.

10. 1969 Cobra Daytona Shelby Cobra Daytona

Distant cousins of the unicorn-rare Mustang, Eleanor, from Gone in 60 Seconds, the fastback ‘69 Cobra is probably one of the best looking barn finds in all of the Horizons. It’s also a trusty companion if you’re looking to race on straightaways or if you don’t mind some sloppy muscle-car drifting.

9. Jaguar XK 120 SE

The true definition of a barn find, the XK is a signature of Jaguar’s heritage. It’s also terrible for racing and a much better option for a sightseeing tour of Horizon’s gorgeous landscapes.

8. Holden HQ Monaro GTS 350

Forza Horizon 3 takes us to the Australian wilderness, so it’s no surprise that the most famous car manufacturer has three barn finds in the game. Their GTS 350 is, by far, the most lustworthy of the three and really feels like a treasure among the other cars in the game.

7. Lamborghini LM 002

The Lambo SUV perfectly captures Horizon 3’s spirit. On the one hand, it’s a Lamborghini, artfully constructed with performance in mind. On the other hand, it’s a truck—rugged and meant to chew up the outback. If there’s a car more perfect for a Forza game set down under, we can’t think of it.

6. Lamborghini Miura P400

Another barn find gem that’s not just for show, the Miura set the tone for the exotics of the ’70s. It’s also a car that feels at home, and holds its own, on the speed-limitless roads of Europe in Horizon 2.

5. Meyers Manx

Just in case you weren’t sure that the newest Horizon was putting an emphasis on off-roading, yet another one of its barn finds is a Meyers Manx dune-buggy. It’s got just the right amount of weird to make you want it in your collection.

4. Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ2

The plucky Italian car company has made some great machines in their history, but few of them are more closely associated with Alfa than the Giulia. And no Giulia is better than the TZ2.

3. Toyota FJ40

Kudos to Horizon for picking the coolest Toyota ever to include in the exclusive list of barn finds. FJs are badass through and through. We’ll happily jump the sandy dunes of down under in this beast.

2. 1992 Bugatti EB110 SS

The predecessor of the Veyron, Bugatti’s EB110 was ahead of its time in 1992 and seems to have inspired many of the exotics that we love from the ’90s. The best part is, it can still blow the doors off of anything you throw at it.

1. 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa

The last time a ‘57 Testa Rossa sold at auction, it went for a cool $39 million . With that kind of stature, we’d gladly forgive its goofy, bulbous fenders and hood scoop if we found one wasting away in a barn somewhere.
