Gal Gadot Reveals Why ‘Wonder Woman’ Is Different From Other DC Movies

It already sounds way better than 'Batman v. Superman.'

Gal Gadot’s representation of Amazonian smokeshow, Wonder Woman, was easily the highlight of the abysmal flop known as Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice

That’s why when the breakout actress reprises the role in her very own standalone movie next year, there’s a lot of pressure on both her and director Patty Jenkins to convince audiences around the world that there’s a lot more to DC Films than flailing damsels and never-ending explosions.

Though the Wonder Woman trailer did deliver on all accounts, with a ton of action mixed in with Gadot’s undeniable Israeli charm, the 31-year wants to ensure the public that there is way more hidden under the film’s surface.

“Wonder Woman is different,” she said during an interview with We Got This Covered. “On this film, we went back to Diana’s backstory – to her history, her coming of age. How did Diana become Wonder Woman? But with this character, what I love about her so much is that her agenda is love. It’s not about fighting, it’s not about who is stronger than whom; it’s not about women versus men. It’s about love, and acceptance of others. She stands for love, justice and compassion.”

Find out if the lasso-wielding superhero is just as much of a fighter as she is a lover when Wonder Woman hits theaters on June 2, 2017.
