The Game and Drake Shout Out Compton in “100” Video
Taking a moment away from his beef with Meek Mill, Drake drops a new video with The Game.
Compton is on a bit of a roll lately. With Compton-native Kendrick Lamar’s instant-classic To Pimp A Butterfly dropping earlier this year, Paul Beatty’s hilarious and cutting novel The Sellouttaking place in a lightly fictionalized version of Compton finding release this spring, and the forthcoming (and well-reviewed) N.W.A. bio-picStraight Outta Compton premiering on August 14th, the southern California city is having something of an artistic renaissance.
Now, The Game, one of Compton’s biggest acts from the last decade, is readying a follow-up to his breakthrough album, 2005’s The Documentary. The Documentary 2 is set for release on August 28th, and to celebrate, The Game invited Drake (whose currently destroying Meek Mill and salting his fields) to his hometown to film the warm and beautiful video for his lead single “100”.
