George Martin, the Beatles’ Famed Producer, Is Dead at 90
The ‘fifth Beatle’ passed on Tuesday.
The Beatles’ longtime producer George Martin has died, his management confirmed Wednesday. Martin was 90.
“We can confirm that Sir George Martin passed away peacefully at home yesterday evening,” Adam Sharp, a founder of CA Management, stated via email.
Paul McCartney honored Martin in a Facebook post, saying “If anyone earned the title of the fifth Beatle it was George. From the day that he gave the Beatles our first recording contract, to the last time I saw him, he was the most generous, intelligent and musical person I’ve ever had the pleasure to know.”
Beatles drummer Ringo Starr tweeted the following message:
