The Grateful Dead Are Going on Tour With an Unusual Frontman
Text your dad, because Dead & Company just announced some tour dates.
Last month the remaining members of the Grateful Dead reunited on what was the 20 year anniversary of the last Grateful Dead concert and performed a series of reunion shows called “Fare Thee Well: Celebrating 50 Years of Grateful Dead” at Chicago’s Soldier Field.
These shows, hyped as final performances, featured Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, Phil Lesh, and Bob Weir, plus Trey Anastasio on guitar, and Bruce Hornsby on piano. Now, only months later, the remaining Dead (minus Phil Lesh) have joined forces with an unusual frontman: Mr. “Body Is a Wonderland” himself, John Mayer. The group will be hitting the road to give the United States a few final final (maybe?) thrills with a series of tour dates under the band name Dead & Company.
Dead & Company’s first show will be on October 29th in Albany, NY. The rest of the show dates can be seen below.
