Here’s Your First Look at Grimes’ Upcoming Album

She designed the cover for Art Angels herself, and it’s pretty damn awesome.

Grimes has finally released the cover art — which she designed herself — for her upcoming album Art Angels, the follow up to 2012’s Visions. She announced the information about Art Angelson Twitter and Instagram Monday morning. In an interview for the November issue of Q Magazine, Claire Boucher, the force behind Grimes, said she’s been fixated on what she refers to as “bro-art,” which is what gave her inspiration for the album as a whole.

“One song on the album, ‘Kill V Maim,’ is written from the perspective of Al Pacino in The Godfather Part II,” she says. “Except he’s a vampire who can switch gender and travel through space.”

Sold!

No release date has been given for the album yet, but word on the street is that it’s coming soon, along with a new video.
