The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) has dedicated a portion of its museum to Guillermo del Toro, recreating some of the fantasy-horror director’s most macabre and fantastical boogeymen.

The “At Home with Monsters” exhibit displays replicas of the orphan ghost from The Devil’s Backbone, the Faun and child-eating Pale Man from his Spanish-language masterpiece Pan’s Labyrinth, and the pint-sized—albeit terrifying—tooth fairy from Hellboy, among others.

Guillermo del Toro has reinvented the genres of horror, fantasy, and science fiction. Working with a team of artists and actors, del Toro re-creates the lucid dreams he experienced as a child in Guadalajara. “DDT Efectos Especiales” by Montse Ribe depicts the ghost of Santi from del Toro’s film “The Devil's Backbone” in lifelike realism.
