Four decades after the night he came home, Michael Myers returns to Haddonfield, Illinois to butcher horny teenagers on Halloween.

A new trailer for the Halloween reboot just hit the Internet, and the movie will act as a direct sequel to the 1978 original, ignoring the other nine films in the iconic slasher franchise.

The O.G. “final girl” Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) has been waiting 40 long years for her brother to escape his mental institution, so that she could finish the job the late Dr. Samuel Loomis couldn’t in the first.

“Do you know that I pray every night that he would escape?” a hardened Jamie Lee says in the trailer. “So I can kill him.”

Commence Michael Myers reclaiming his old white mask and terrorizing local teenagers, one of them Strode’s granddaughter. You have to give it up to Michael Myers; he’s in great shape for a man who’s in his sixties at this point.

Halloween creator John Carpenter returned to score the movie, and David Gordon Green and Danny McBride will direct. Blumhouse, the production house behind Get Out and The Purge, is heading up the reboot.
