Microsoft released a brand new trailer for Halo 5: Guardians by way of BuzzFeed, and it’s sprinkled with some of the best fan service a Halo faithful could ask for.
More than a trailer, the video is actually the opening cinematic for the upcoming entry in the Halo saga set for an October 27 release for the Xbox One. Master Chief himself doesn’t make an appearance in the clip, as it focuses on one James Locke, the leader of Fireteam Osiris, and his Spartan-IV squad.
The UNSC briefs the group on the mission they’re about to embark on, and features not one but two female Spartans alongside Nathan Fillion’s digital avatar, before the team makes their descent to the battlefield.
It’s an engaging spectacle to be sure, and should definitely get you in the mood for the game’s release, especially if you’re looking forward to a deluge of great fall games beyond Tuesday’s release of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and Mad Max.
