Iggy Azalea Breaks Beatles’ Record on Billboard Charts

The Maxim Hot 100 singer made her Billboard debut at No. 1 and No. 2.

Australian rap phenom Iggy Azalea is having the best week ever.

First, we announced that she had placed on the Maxim 2014 Hot 100. So, that’s a thing. And then yesterday we learned that she has both the No. 1 and No. 2 singles on the Billboard Hot 100, making her the only artist to occupy both slots with their first two Hot 100 charting songs since The Beatles did so in 1964, with “I Wanna Hold Your Hand” and “She Loves You.”

Azalea’s summer anthem “Fancy” (feat. Charlie XCX) is currently the number one song in the country, followed by Ariana Grande’s “Problem,” on which she guests. Pretty impressive for a 23-year-old most people had never heard of a year ago.

So, congrats to Iggy on her assorted Hot 100 triumphs. For the rest of the day we’ll be watching this video of her performing “Fancy” at the Billboard Music Awards on loop.
