Fox and iHeartRadio organized a virtual benefit concert to provide self-quarantined Americans with entertainment and support as the country continues to battle the coronavirus pandemic.
Hosted by Elton John, the online event took place in lieu of the 2020 iHeartRadio Music Awards and featured various mainstream artists. Billie Eilish and her brother/cowriter Finneas performed an stripped-down rendition of the five-time Grammy winner’s breakout hit “Bad Guy.”
Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl strummed an acoustic guitar and sang a sedated version of the band’s 1997 single “My Hero,” and Alica Keys saluted first responders with a lyrically appropriate “Underdog” piano ballad. Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong, Backstreet Boys, Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes, H.E.R., Mariah Carey, Tim McGraw and Sam Smith also gave intimate performances.
Ciara and Russell Wilson, Demi Lovato, Ellen DeGeneres, Ken Jeong, Lady Gaga, Lizzo, Melissa McCarthy, Ben Falcone and Ryan Seacrest made guest appearances, all of which included tributes to frontline health professionals and first responders.
The iHeart Living Room Concert for America can be viewed above through Wednesday, March 1 at 10 p.m. ET. As you watch, consider donating to Feeding America and the First Responders Children’s Foundation.
