The International Trailer for ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ Has More Explosions, More Darth Vader

The Force is strong in this one.

International trailers for big films can often be unexpectedly revealing compared to their domestic counterparts. That seems to be the case with the newest trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. In just over two minutes we get more explosions—including a first look at the Death Star in action—a dose of New Hope (characters from the first film), more mentions of The Force and coolest of all, more Darth Vader

Rogue One is the standalone story of how a band of Rebel spies steals the plans for the Death Star. It takes place before the events in 1977’s A New Hope and features new characters like Felicity Jones’s Jyn Erso and Hannibal star Mads Mikkelsen as Jyn’s father Galen, who tips the Rebels that the Empire is about test its planet-destroying mega-weapon.

The movie went through some tinkering in early 2016 but it looks ready to go. We get our first look at this new corner of the Star Wars universe on December 16, 2016.
