Introducing the Most Expensive Krispy Kreme Doughnut in the World
How do you make the most expensive doughnut in the world? Bake it with champagne, gold leaf, gold dust and edible diamonds.
Over the weekend, the mad scientists at Krispy Kreme revealed their very special £1,000 (or $1682) dessert in the London department store, Selfridges. Dom Perignon 2002 champagne jelly, 24-carat gold leaf, gold-dusted white chocolate flowers, and edible diamonds are just some of the very expensive ingredients on this diabetic masterpiece. In addition to the pastry itself, there was a cocktail to accompany it made from raspberry and passion fruit syrup, Courvoisier Cognac, and more Dom Perignon 2002… naturally. National Doughnut Day is coming up on June 6th, so go ahead and order a dozen to celebrate.
