Jacoby Jones Injured in Not-So-Tragic Stripper and Champagne Incident
He let the partying go to his head. Literally.
Jacoby Jones, an integral part of the Ravens’ Super Bowl victory, is having a rough go of it at the start of the season. First, he was injured in Peyton Manning’s dismantling of Baltimore in week one, and now the wide receiver has been stricken by one of the more over-the-top injuries in recent memory.
Jones was out celebrating teammate Bryant McKinnie’s birthday at something called Opera Ultra Club, which we assume is the complete opposite of an actual opera. But once the gang – including a stripper named “Sweet Pea” – loaded up into the party bus, it became clear that trouble was afoot. A brawl promptly broke out, and Jones was struck in the head with a large bottle of champagne by none other than Sweet Pea the stripper (who, as it turned out, wasn’t so sweet after all). Paramedics responded to the call at 3 AM – which, to be fair, is the most appropriate time to get struck in the head with a bottle of champagne by a stripper named “Sweet Pea” on a party bus – but the profusely bleeding Jones denied treatment, presumably due to his complete and utter embarrassment.
Just to add insult to horribly humiliating injury, the news of Jones’ injury intersected with the very gruesome (seriously, don’t click here, it’s horrifying) and badass severing of Rashad Johnson’s finger. An injury that Johnson doesn’t even remember happening. Cheer up, Jacoby Jones, at least you didn’t injure yourself trying to save a pizza.
