Director James Gunn Just Confirmed There Will Be a ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 3’
Baby Groot will be applying for college at this point.
Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn is doing rounds of interviews for the new ultraviolent film he scripted and produced, The Belko Experiment. In one of those chats with Complex, he dropped a couple of pretty tasty tidbits for Guardians fans who are already stoked about Vol. 2 and an appearance by Star Lord and the gang in Avengers: Infinity War.
Asked if there were plans for a Guardians 3, Gunn said, “There will be a Guardians 3, that’s for sure.”
“We’re trying to figure it out,” he continued, “I’m trying to figure out what I want to do really, that’s all it is. I got to figure out where I want to be, what I want to spend the next three years of my life doing.”
He was wise enough to be a little vague, though, telling Complex he is “going to make another big movie; is it the Guardians or something else? I’m just going to figure it out over the next couple of weeks.”
Gunn also addressed the Guardians’ role in Infinity War, saying “You know listen, I don’t think we should overstate things that it is an Avengers movie, but the Guardians are a part of the cosmic universe…” Star Lord, Drax, Rocket Raccoon, Gamora, and Groot play a role in uber-villain Thanos’ tale, Gunn said, “[So], they are in there, and they have, not the biggest, but, an integral part to that.”
Look, just give us more Groot and good classic rock on the soundtrack along with our explosive space adventures and we’ll be good to go.
