Watch a Former NHL Star Take on an Alligator on a Golf Course
Here’s what happens when life imitates Happy Gilmore.
The world of sports has seen few characters quite like Jeremy Roenick. A total ham in an elite athlete’s body, Roenick was a fantastic NHL forward and an all-time hockey personality, having hit the ice for the Chicago Blackhawks, Phoenix Coyotes, Philadelphia Flyers, Los Angeles Kings and San Jose Sharks during his 18-season NHL career. He never won any championships, sure, but Roenick’s always had a special place in our hearts.
Thankfully, JR hasn’t faded into obscurity like so many great athletes of yesteryear. Instead, he’s still out there entertaining the people by doing nonsense like trying to tackle an alligator on a golf course. On Monday, Philadelphia radio personality Rhea Hughes tweeted footage of Roenick sneaking up on an alligator sunning itself on a golf course:

Too bad JR missed. We would have loved to see what he would have done if he’d gotten his hands on that beast. Probably something like this:
