The Grisly New Trailer For ‘Jigsaw’ Is The ‘Saw’ Reboot You’ve Been Waiting For

Let the games begin.

O.J. Simpson may have gotten parole, but an even deadlier American killer is back on the loose.

Well, Jigsaw—of the long-running ’00s horror franchise Saw is entirely fictitious, and he never technically kills anyone. He simply lays the traps and allows his terrorized victims to do the job themselves (unless, of course, they can beat his “games”).

Still, the terror is real in the trailer for Jigsaw, the forthcoming reboot film from German-Australian directing duo Peter and Michael Spierig (Daybreakers, Predestination).

The Spierig Brothers have brought a different tone to the reboot: the colors are brighter, there is a smart self-referential humor thrown into the mix, and the traps appear to be more jerry-built than the industrial killing machines of the original series.

This could perhaps be because the new “games” have likely been set by a copycat (or copycats), although police find the original killer’s DNA on some of the victims.

Fans will have to wait to the Oct. 27 release of Jigsaw to solve this freaky-ass puzzle.
