Watch Jimmy Kimmel Skewer Brooklyn Hipsters in Do the White Thing

It’s all vintage sweaters and quinoa and gluten-free pizza.

It’s been 26 years since the Spike Lee joint Do The Right Thing premiered, and as Jimmy Kimmel noted in the introduction to his parody sequel, a lot has changed in the neighborhood since then.

Lee’s original was about racial tensions in Bed-Stuy, but Do The White Thing is made up entirely of white people: Obnoxious Brooklyn gentrifiers who won’t tolerate the incorrect pronunciation of quinoa and demand to know where their pizza ingredients are sourced.  Kimmel assembled an impressive (and relevant) cast for his fake sequel: You’ll recognize some actors from the HBO gentrification comedyGirls, as well as one person from the original movie.

“Water conservation is everyone’s problem, my brother.”
