Keith Richards Is Not a Fan of Rap or Heavy Metal

The Rolling Stones guitarist had a few choice words about those genres in a recent interview.

Iconic guitarist Keith Richards will not be lending licks to any rap or metal artists any time soon. 

In a recent interview with the Daily News, Richard says “Millions are in love with Metallica and Black Sabbath. I just thought they were great jokes.” And as for rap: “What rap did that was impressive was to show there are so many tone-deaf people out there. All they need is a drum beat and somebody yelling over it and they’re happy. There’s an enormous market for people who can’t tell one note from another.”

With Richards’ proven reputation, and years of service with The Rolling Stones, it’s likely he’s not worried about losing friends or album sales with comments like that.  His third solo album, and first in twenty-three years, Crosseyed Heart, comes out on September 18. Here’s a taste:
