The trailer for Kindergarten Cop 2, the long-awaited sequel to Andrew Schwarzenegger’s surprisingly successful 1990 original, is here to explain why the movie is not getting a theatrical release.
Dolph Lundgren (Rocky IV, Masters of the Universe) has taken over for Schwarzenegger as a undercover cop lured to a classroom in order to solve a case. Here’s the official synopsis from Universal:
In Kindergarten Cop 2, Lundgren plays Agent Reed, who goes undercover as a kindergarten teacher, this time to recover a flash drive with sensitive information that was stolen from the Witness Protection Program. However, in addition to dealing with a handful of students, Reed also faces problems with the school’s “politically correct environment.”
Lundgren will also have a quote-unquote “Indian sidekick,” so it’s looking pretty likely we can expect an overload of casual racism. But who knows? Maybe it will still be a hit. Straight to home video release has come a long way since the nineties.
