In between surprise news of superhero castings and an array of fresh trailers, Warner Bros. managed to draw some attention toward its first look at its highly anticipated Kong: Skull Island this weekend at Comic-Con in San Diego.
Set in the 1970s, this reboot of the King Kong story sees a group of explorers (Brie Larson, Tom Hiddleston and Samuel L. Jackson) venturing into uncharted island territory, only to discover that the area is inhabited with creatures that only appear in your wildest dreams – and the occasional nightmare.

“What you’re looking at is a monster from some bygone era,” Jackson barks amid a soundtrack of intense tribal drums. “It’s time to show that man is king,” he commands.
