Every week between now and the November 11th release of her upcoming album, ARTPOP, Lady Gaga is releasing a new track, and the latest — a collaboration with R. Kelly with the Prince-like title “Do What U Want” — hit the internet this morning. Thankfully, it leans more towards “Pop” than “Art,” which is where Gaga finds her sweet spot. Say what you will about the woman, but “Just Dance,” “Poker Face,” and Bad Romance” are some of the stickiest pop tracks in recent memory. . . although still not half as catchy as Kelly’s “Ignition (Remix)” (a song catchier than any of the STDs its singer has likely contracted). Is this as good as those? No, but it’s good enough.
