Lily Rose-Depp & The Weeknd Heat Up ‘The Idol’ HBO Max Teaser Trailer
Co-created by “Euphoria” showrunner Sam Levinson, the limited series explores the dark side of Hollywood.
Euphoria creator Sam Levinson is behind a new HBO Max series “from the gutters of Hollywood” starring Lily Rose-Depp and The Weekend that recently dropped its second teaser trailer.
The limited series co-created by Levinson features Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, better known as pop star The Weeknd, as an L.A. self-help guru, and Depp as a budding singer who falls under his sway.
The Idol isn’t the first time that The Weeknd has acted on TV or film. The Grammy-winning singer appeared in the acclaimed 2019 film Uncut Gems as a fictionalized version of himself, and wrote and starred in a 2020 episode of TBS’ animated series American Dad.
Singer Troye Sivan, Suzanna Son, Moses Sumney, Jane Adams, Dan Levy, Da’vine Joy Randolph, and Hank Azaria also star in the series, along with Korean rapper/singer Jennie of the girl group Blackpink.
