Lucasfilm Will Begin Production On an Obi-Wan Kenobi Trilogy in 2019
These movies could be more powerful than you could possibly imagine.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi doesn’t open till Dec. 15, but we already know we’ve got a full plate of Star Wars universe movies ahead. They include a trilogy about Luke Skywalker’s mentor , Obi-Wan “Ben” Kenobi.
Omega Underground reports via an anonymous source that “[Lucasfilm] is expecting this Kenobi film to begin filming at Pinewood Studios UK (confirmed stage location) sometime in January 2019.”

In the past Obi-Wan was played—with impressive consistency—by Alec Guinness then Ewan McGregor. He was always a vital character, but even in the mostly-hated Star Wars prequels he was never the most important role.
Now longtime fans of the bearded Jedi will really have something to chew on.
That said, we’ll all have to get through Last Jedi then Solo—the young Han Solo movie—before we know what form the Kenobi flicks will take.
We certainly wouldn’t complain if we got to see Yoda join in the ass-kicking again.
