A Man Named ‘Phuc Dat Bich’ Is Not Happy With Facebook

Find out why.

Life isn’t easy for a Vietnamese-Australian bank worker named Phuc Dat Bich. Aggravated by Facebook’s repeated banning of his account, he finally uploaded a picture of his passport to settle the matter once and for all (and give a clear thumbs down to the social media giant). Tactically, however, the move may have backfired, with Facebook shares of the photo now numbering in the tens of thousands.

“I’ve been accused of using a false and misleading name, which I find very offensive,” explained a tired Phuc, “nobody seems to believe me when I say my full legal name is how you see it.”

Apparently the correct pronunciation is closer to “Phoo Dat Bic,” but this subtlety eludes his English-speaking community.

“Is it because I’m Asian? Is it?” lamented the exasperated Bich. We can only begin to imagine the struggles he encounters at Starbucks.
